In light of the 2026 International Women’s Day, we join the rest of the world in reflecting on the progress made in advancing opportunities for women.

Moments like this remind us of the importance of structures, initiatives, and communities that support women and give them the opportunity to express themselves fully and maximize their potential. Beyond the celebration, it also reinforces the ongoing commitment and the continued need to create spaces where women can thrive.

At Bramble Network, this commitment is reflected not only in our programs but also in our leadership. As an organisation led by a woman, Odunayo Aliu, Bramble has championed an inclusive and engaging environment that has fostered growth for many while challenging the long-standing notion that women do not belong in leadership positions. Her leadership stands as a powerful example of what is possible, demonstrating that women can challenge traditional limitations and build impactful futures.
For Bramble Network, empowering women around the world begins with the girl child. Every girl child represents the promising and successful woman she can become in the future when given the right opportunities. Hence, our empowerment initiatives are aimed at nurturing the girl child and providing opportunities for her to discover and maximize her full potential.
One of the ways we demonstrate this commitment is through our 70–30 percent admission policy, with 70% intentionally reserved for girls. This ensures that more girls have access to quality learning opportunities.
This approach is particularly important in correcting historical gaps, especially in rural communities where some families may prioritize boys’ education while limiting girls to domestic roles, early marriage, or other responsibilities that prevent them from pursuing their education.
By granting equal access to education for girls, we contribute to raising the next generation of women who are learned, confident, and independent enough to reach for their dreams.

Another key initiative supporting this vision is the Bramble Innovation Hub, an initiative targeted at empowering girls and women economically. Here, women and girls alike are taught vocational skills which they can monetize, enabling them to become financially stable and self-reliant.
The Bramble Innovation Hub also serves as an opportunity for women who had limited access to formal education. For many women in underserved communities, the chance to attend school was not always available. Through the Innovation Hub, these women are able to learn practical skills which they can use to support their families and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

Celebrating the International Day of the Girl Child is also something we hold in very high regard. It provides an avenue to support and equip the girl child with values and skills that encourage her to freely express her strengths, gain confidence, and grow into an independent and impactful member of society.
Initiatives like these highlight the importance of creating policies and opportunities that allow women to grow, thrive, and challenge traditional limitations. At Bramble, we remain continually committed to this cause.
We strongly welcome collaborations and partnerships with individuals, organisations, and stakeholders who share the vision of empowering women and creating spaces where girls can learn, grow, and contribute meaningfully to society.
